Greetings, summoners! With Spectator Mode making its way into League of Legends, many of you have been asking the question: “How do I spectate a custom game?” Well, we’re here to fill you in on just how to watch your friends battle it out on the fields of justice!
You can spectate a custom game in one of two ways:

Note that spectating custom games has three limitations:

Spectators also enjoy two features specific to Spectator Mode:

We hope you enjoy watching your fellow summoners battle it out as much as you enjoy engaging in battle yourself
You can spectate a custom game in one of two ways:
- Join a custom game just as you would normally, and then click the “Join Spectators” button at the bottom right.
- Select a custom game in the Custom Games list and, and press “Spectate.” This will automatically place you into the game lobby as a spectator.

Note that spectating custom games has three limitations:
- First, the game must have spectators enabled. The game host has the option to enable or disable spectating during game creation.
- Second, custom games have a limited number of Spectator slots.
- Third, a minimum of one other human player is required for you to spectate a game. You cannot create a custom game, fill it with bots, and then spectate that game.

Spectators also enjoy two features specific to Spectator Mode:
- Spectators watch the game on a three-minute delay. So even in the event that a spectator attempts to collude with players in the game to gather private information, that information will be significantly outdated.
- Spectators may leave the game at any time without penalty. If a spectator leaves a game, he is given the option to reconnect or completely quit spectating, which will allow him to join a different game.

We hope you enjoy watching your fellow summoners battle it out as much as you enjoy engaging in battle yourself
